Geotechnical and Soil-Structure Interaction Laboratory (GSSIL)
Offers high-value, technologically advanced geotechnical testing services to the oil industry and engineering companies, and supports research and technological development activities in the field of geotechnics at the IMP.
GSSIL is the only laboratory in Mexico that integrates state-of-the-art equipment for the static and dynamic characterisation of soils using centrifuge equipment.
The laboratory allows for the evaluation of geohazards through accelerated centrifuge testing, as well as the stability of foundations and marine and land pipelines.
TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS:
-
Physical modelling for testing with centrifuge equipment.
-
Comprehensive characterisation of rock cores for exploration and wells.
-
Numerical modelling applied to the analysis and design of foundation systems and pipelines for marine exploitation infrastructure.
-
Instrumentation and control applied to geotechnical experimentation.
