Mexican Petroleum Institute & the Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación A.C.

With the aim of strengthening strategic collaboration and continuing to drive the development of quality infrastructure in Mexico, the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) and the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA) formalized the signing of an agreement that will enable the updating, strengthening, and consolidation of their joint actions in accreditation, assessment, and the enhancement of technical capabilities in laboratories, generating greater value, reliability, and competitiveness for the sector.

IMP and EMA renewed their collaboration agreement, continuing the alliance established in 2019 to strengthen quality infrastructure in Mexico. This agreement promotes the harmonization of accreditation and assessment processes, as well as the development of projects in energy efficiency, metrology, and standardization.

During the event, both institutions highlighted that this collaboration has been key to consolidating a solid, reliable accreditation system aligned with international standards. They also emphasized that laboratory accreditation is essential to ensure the quality, reliability, and traceability of results, especially in strategic sectors such as energy.

The updated agreement will expand cooperation between both institutions, promoting knowledge exchange, specialist training, and expert participation in evaluation processes. This will strengthen technical capabilities and open new opportunities to address current sector challenges.

With this renewal, IMP reaffirms its commitment to quality, technological innovation, and scientific development in Mexico’s energy sector.
