IMP and CENAGAS Sign Collaboration Agreement to Strengthen Natural Gas Transportation and Storage
Within the framework of the 11th anniversary of the Centro Nacional de Control del Gas Natural (CENAGAS), the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) and CENAGAS formalized a strategic agreement to promote high-impact projects in natural gas transportation and storage. The alliance encompasses ongoing research, technological development, innovation, specialized studies, technical services, and the training of highly specialized human capital, strengthening the operational and technical capabilities of both institutions.
IMP’s Director General highlighted that this partnership will leverage shared expertise, talent, and strategic vision, consolidating an energy policy grounded in science, knowledge, and collaboration.
For his part, the head of CENAGAS emphasized that the agreement will help enhance the operational safety and efficiency of the Sistema de Transporte y Almacenamiento Nacional Integrado de Gas Natural (SISTRANGAS), a critical infrastructure system that ensures a safe, reliable, and equitable gas supply to drive the country’s economic and social development.
With the support of the Secretaría de Energía (SENER) and other strategic stakeholders in the sector, this collaboration establishes a robust cooperation platform that strengthens energy security, technological innovation, and the transition toward a more resilient and sustainable energy system in Mexico.
