IMP and API formalize partnership to strengthen the competitiveness of the energy industry
IMP and API formalize partnership to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen professional capabilities, and advance standards and best practices for a safer, more reliable, and sustainable energy industry.
The Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) and the American Petroleum Institute (API) are bringing together their expertise, technological capabilities, and specialized knowledge to strengthen the development of Mexico’s energy industry. The partnership will promote the adoption of international standards, talent training and certification, research, and knowledge exchange.
The collaboration also encompasses strategic areas such as energy transition, emissions reduction, carbon capture and storage, and infrastructure safety, as well as the participation of IMP specialists in the development of API standards and the strengthening of professional capabilities.
To translate this partnership into tangible results, both institutions established a work plan based on four key areas: standards; training and certification; research, innovation, and standardization; and regulatory monitoring and information exchange.
Through this collaboration, IMP and API aim to connect global knowledge with national capabilities to enhance the competitiveness of the sector, strengthen Mexican talent, and contribute to a safer, more efficient, and sustainable energy industry.
