IMP and UAdeC Sign Framework Collaboration Agreement

IMP and the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila established a strategic alliance to promote research, innovation, and technological development projects focused on energy resources, clean energy, and energy transition.

The Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) and the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila formalized a Framework Collaboration Agreement to strengthen joint research, innovation, and technological development projects aimed at the sustainable use of energy resources and the advancement of Mexico’s energy transition.


The agreement will enable both institutions to combine their scientific, technological, academic, and infrastructure capabilities to promote initiatives related to hydrocarbons, lithium, and other minerals found in brines associated with oil production, as well as projects focused on clean energy and solutions that contribute to reducing environmental impact.


During the signing ceremony, representatives from both institutions highlighted the importance of interinstitutional collaboration in accelerating the generation of applied knowledge, strengthening technical assistance, and fostering the development of technologies with regional and national impact. They also emphasized Coahuila’s energy potential and the opportunities it offers for advancing strategic projects related to hydrocarbons, renewable energy, and minerals that are critical to the energy transition.


The agreement also includes initiatives to develop specialized talent through student participation in research projects, graduate programs, and technological innovation activities, strengthening collaboration between academia and the energy sector to support sustainable development and national competitiveness.
