IMP Reaffirms Its Leadership at the Opening of the 6th International Energy Congress 2025
The opening ceremony of the 6th International Energy Congress 2025 brought together academic authorities and specialists to redefine the sector’s direction in the face of climate change. The event was organized by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, the Academia Mexicana de Energía, the Academia de Ingeniería México, and the Colegio de Ingenieros Petroleros de México.
During the inaugural declaration, Dr. Elizabeth Mar Juárez, Director General of the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP), emphasized that transforming the energy sector requires technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility as key pillars to build a stronger and more competitive Mexico. She also highlighted the importance of engaging young talent in developing sustainable energy solutions aligned with the national vision of strengthening scientific and technological capabilities.
IMP’s participation also included its presence at the Energy Transition Forum on full decarbonization through renewable and clean energy sources, where it shared perspectives with specialists from the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT) and the Academia de Ingeniería México, reaffirming its leadership in designing strategies toward a more sustainable energy model.
Through this engagement, IMP strengthens its positioning as a strategic partner in research, technological development, and the generation of solutions with social and environmental impact.
Its participation in the Congress not only consolidates key alliances among academia, industry, and government, but also promotes innovative projects that accelerate Mexico’s energy transition, in line with its mission to create technology to energize life.
